Blue Coat School Opens Coventry’s First Secondary Specialist Resource Provision

Today we were proud to officially open The Ark at Blue Coat School, Coventry’s first secondary Specialist Resource Provision. The afternoon began with a presentation that shared the journey, purpose and ambition behind the provision, setting out a clear commitment to inclusive education that meets the needs of every learner.

Guests were then invited to tour the brand new space and see learning in action. It was incredibly powerful to witness the mainstream Blue Coat curriculum being taught within The Ark, demonstrating how high expectations, thoughtful design and strong relationships come together to support young people to thrive. The provision felt calm, purposeful and aspirational, with a clear sense that this is a place where students will feel safe, supported and challenged to achieve their best.

The visit offered a glimpse into the future of inclusive secondary education in Coventry, showing how students can access a full secondary experience while learning in an environment carefully shaped around their needs. The Ark truly felt like home, firmly rooted within the wider Blue Coat community and reflecting a shared vision for belonging, opportunity and ambition.

The afternoon concluded with a special moment as Sue Lovelock, Regional Director for the West Midlands at the Department for Education, officially opened the provision by cutting the ribbon outside the new SRP space. It was a proud milestone for Blue Coat School, Inspire Education Trust and the city of Coventry.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to mark this important occasion, including colleagues from the Department for Education, Coventry City Council, members of our Trust Board and representatives from our Local Governing Bodies. Your support and partnership are vital as we continue to strengthen inclusive provision across our schools.
